Sgwarnog: In the Field

Web Necklace

We've had a mizzly sort of rain all day, which brought the cobwebs to life.

I spent a few minutes out in the garden and on the moor trying to capture one of them. The ones on the gorse bushes looked the prettiest, but I found it really tricky getting the right sharpness and balance of colour in low light. And despite holding an umbrella above my head and camera, the inevitable rain drop on the lens has scuppered a few shots.

In the end I've selected one which doesn't show up the web too well, but catches the pattern of water droplets, and a few unfortunate insects caught in the web. Mono seemed a sensible choice to avoid too much distraction from colour variation in the background.
