Newcastle Downunder

Sunday afternoon family outing

It seems to be a bird weekend for me. These are Australian Wood ducks (Chenonetta jubata). I love them, they make very cute wood duck noises and there are a pair that usually come around to my place a couple of times a year and clean out my chimneys of spiders and other bits and pieces.

This family were down at Swansea (a suburb to the south of Newcastle - don't laugh) near the entrance to Lake Macquarie. Dad (in the lead) was being very protective and mum had them all under her wing so to speak.

Hope you all had a good weekend.
