Flying into Krakow

- Backblip -

Up before the dawn. I couldn't believe how busy the M8 was so early in the morning, at times we were stationery.

Off to Poland today on the Easyjet flight from Edinburgh. Arrived to blue skies, 26C and a great welcome from T. We then set off on a three hour drive north to the centre of the country. Stopped off for a meal - I had Zurek (soup) and pork with potatoes and cabbage. Arrived at our destination and were each presented with a beautiful cream rose. I was warmly welcomed by E and her family, and helped her ten year old daughter with English homework. Very interesting to look through her school books and see how she learns my language. It's lovely to be back in their home.

The shapes of the fields are different to those in the UK, and you also get a sense of how flat the country is from up here.
