Pepsi-Cola

It was our last full day on Holiday so we spent the day in New Bern, NC.

Originally a Swiss immigrant settlement, the city is named after the capital of Switzerland, Bern and has a similar flag. New Bern is commonly known as the birthplace of Pepsi Cola and it is also the setting of the Nicholas Sparks' book, The Notebook.

Pepsi was created and developed in 1898 by Caleb Bradham in the pharmacy pictured here. Well, it was originally a pharmacy. Now it's a tourist destination. Caleb is buried in a New Bern cemetery and I was inserted a photo in the corner of this one.
