La Ronda, Montevideo, Uruguay

Jarvises like to think of their watering holes as oases, both in a cultural sense and in terms of them having plenty of liquid when you're thirsty. After wandering around the old town of Montevideo for an hour or two, it soon becomes apparent that there isn't a great deal of income being disposed of on things that aren't bare necessities. So with any kind of bar being thin on the ground, and some of them being rather unprepossessing, it's always a pleasure to find one with a good selection of vinyl on the walls and an equally good selection playing on the turntable. Such was the case at La Ronda, not just the best bar this Jarvis found in Montevideo but one of the best I've found in the Americas.
