Spoke to a very old and dear friend tonight. His family are having a tough time but, as ever, he didn't sound any different, positive and cheerful. He's quite astonishing that way.

My thoughts and love are with them all. You know who you are. Love ya big guy.

And I may even now forgive him for feeding me a chilli when we were 13...
