running towards nothing

I had planned to be at home for an extra hour this morning to discuss the finishing (ha!) touches to the kitchen such as end panels, a carousel unit and the tiling options. That bit all went well but unfortunately I then had to wait in for an engineer to come and look at my malfunctioning boiler - advanced surgery required on Thursday to replace the circuit board so that's another day confined to barracks. All day today the builders worked very hard painting, installing the door and window frames, generally clearing out all the heavy duty equipment and washing the kitchen floor. Meanwhile, at the front of the house, a man was manically chainsawing the felled tree into sections. It was not a peaceful day.

Although I'm a bit grumpy about the boiler, everything is starting to come together and the builder even offered to mend my gutters and garden gate when he's finished the kitchen. He is a national treasure.
