Old world charm

Called in on Houghton village on my way back from St Ives and the drawing/watercolour class. This quintessential English village is full of lovely cottages so I was spoilt for choice when it came to photography.
Apparently this cottage is a Listed Building and goes back to the late 16th century.
I love the red berries against the white of the walls - it could only be autumn.
The drawing class is getting more difficult - we are into getting everything in proportion when drawing a scene so that you don't suddenly find you've run out of paper!

For the record: 19C, warm with sunny spells - beautiful for mid October and it's saving on the oil bills!
