Furnace Lass

Still in Hitchin

After a wander through the town this morning looking through the fashion shops with our daughter fro smart work clothes we headed to Oughtenhead Common on the outskirts of Hitchin. So hard to believe this wonderful unspoiled area of woodland and marsh is so close to the town centre and just half an hour from the centre of London.

There are several walks to follow so we had a gentle meander around in the late evening sun. Spotted lots of sloe berries which we collected and are now in the process of becoming sloe gin which our daughter and son in law will bring up at Christmas. Should be lovely in the middle of winter as we sip the sloe gin bringing back memories of a the warmth of a late summer afternoon.

We quite liked the reflections on this pond on the common. with the tracery of the branches and leaves on the water.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

meant to say that I am still not sure that the colours are true on this laptop would be interested to hear your opinions on the tones and contrast levels which you are seeing on your screens.
