I've been reading about the decline of the sparrow in English cities. As you can see, there are still plenty here!

House sparrows were first introduced into North America in the 1850s and after a stuttering start, soon flourished. It is thought that there are now more sparrows in America than all the native songbirds combined.

I wonder what kind of bird would be pestering this gentleman if the sparrows had been left in Europe?
