Peninsula Light

By PeninsulaLight

Carrion crow on the left, and Hooded Crow (hoodie) on the right. In some parts of the UK, you'll only find one or the other type. Around here is a boundary area, where the two closely related species are found, and often pair up - as these two have done.

Photo taken from the bird hide at Udale Bay, on the North side of the Black Isle. Spent a couple of hours in there this afternoon, and met a nice lady birdwatcher from Rosemarkie. The hide's not close enough to the birdlife to obtain shots that fill the frame, even if you have the likes of a 600mm lens (which I don't!). But there are still plenty of ducks; geese; swans; waders, and others to be seen.
