Green Man

No, not the OM after last night's celebrations! It was definitely my kind of party: lots of dancing, food and booze!

The B&B Gorse Farm House I found for us to stay in near Sturminster Newton was an absolute gem, the nicest B&B I've ever stayed in. Wendy runs the B&B and Lee her husband does wood carvings, mainly with a chain saw. Amazingly he still has all his digits! This is one of his creations. He does commissions for local councils, the National Trust, stately homes, etc. Lee and the OM hit it off with a mutual love of motorbikes.

After a huge full English breakfast and a wander round the farm house we met up with some of the friends we spent the day with yesterday. After a short walk we adjourned to the pub. Two hours later as we are about to leave three steam traction engines turn up. After snapping pictures we discovered we had a flat tyre so that had to be changed.

We pootled home via the New Forest to visit Dick and Karen. Dick's recently had a heart operation so he and the OM spent a lot of time comparing scars! We also met their new grandson Oscar who was born two months premature. Technically he's not due to be born until next week!


I promise to back blip for yesterday and explain what the celebrations were all about. I took some pictures on the OM's camera and haven't had a chance to download them yet.
