Makes one think

Rather sad events at the Stockholm airport today when a 91 year old women from Ukraine, who has been living with her daughter for some years, was taken to the airport for deportation. She suffers from dementia and has no family back in the Ukraine. Made me wonder what it must feel like to be sent away from one's loved ones.

The police were out in some numbers, along with the press. The officer in the foreground had no objection to me taking his picture, but he wasn't taking his eyes off his task. Afterwards he commented that only I and his mother considered him photogenic.

Edit: Breaking news is that the lady has been allowed to stay while the immigration department hear the case again. I would be very surprised if they ever try and deport her again. Going to be a very happy night for the family tonight.
