Another Languedoc year...

The tricolore

I promised yesterday that I wouldn't put another photo of Jonty, but now people are following his progress I thought I'd put one more - of the first meeting with our older dogs, Flynn the husky and Kit the mostly-labrador.

This photo was taken within 30 minutes of their meeting for the first time and it went spectacularly well. Remember Jonty has been in the rescue kennels for a full year, quivering in the corner of his cell. We are now on day four of his living with us.

Here's how he was described by the Societé pour la Protection des Animaux: EE550 is a young male black cross breed with a white bib, born in April 2010. He is very very scared at the moment and has spent most of his time in the refuge hiding in his cage. However he quickly gains confidence and is good with other dogs, so we are hoping that someone will turn this dog's life around. l He is still well under a year old, so will benefit from some training, but is bright and will be quick to learn.

Tonight he will sleep in my office with the other dogs. I will sleep on the sofa in the kitchen next door juust to ensure there are no midnight shenanigans. After that we'll get on with life as normal. Phew!
