Garrowhill, Obviously

As I travel by train a fair bit, I've probably tried too hard not to over-represent railways in this journal. It's time to relax.

The title of this blip is a wee homage to the grumpy old fellwalker Alfred Wainwright, whose guidebooks loomed large over my teenage years. These books were handwritten and featured many ink drawings of Lake District scenery. One illustration of Souther Fell featured a road sign that clearly indicated the viewpoint, hence the caption is subtitled 'from Mungrisdale, obviously' - a phrase that survives beneath an almost identical view in this photo blog I was pleased to discover a minute or two ago.
