The great escape

A belated post as wifi was not my friend...

We woke at 5am and drove to Newcastle for our flight. By lunchtime we were walking along Fuengirola promenade and it was 25 degrees. Naturally I was unbelievably happy. Getting from the airport to the hotel was unbelievably easy, and our apartment is fantastic, two bedrooms with a separate kitchen and living room and a huge wrap around balcony facing the sea.

After unpacking and stocking up on the essentials (beer and tequila) at the supermarket we headed for the beach and a lunch of calamari. The resort is not the type of place I was dreading, and has miles of beach and restaurants without being tacky.

We took it easy, having a drink on the balcony before heading out for a seafood paella.

I feel a million miles from home...
