Eucalyptus

For some unknown reasons, Eucalyptus enjoys some popularity in our village. Even in our mild climate, they don't really thrive. This nice little shrub once was a several meter high tree. Three years ago, the winter almost killed it, and all other Eucalyptus plants in the village. The gardener took away all dead wood, and now the plant seems to have recovered. Until next harsh winter.

I wonder why people plant this sensitive tree, when so many other decorative species go well here. In spring, the leaves are brown and ugly. However, as long as the plant survives, it creates kind of an exotic impression.
