Strictly 1961

For 1/- (one shilling) a year Strictly Court School of Dancing could be your route to holding on to a girl for a dance (plus an entrance fee of course. and Slow Slow Quick Quick Slow around the dance floor on a Friday and Saturday night. What bliss Little cliques in different corners of the room Rockers, Mods and those who were neither one nor the other. Girls with masses of petticoats under their skirts, boys in smart suits (with shirts and ties) Scruffs not allowed in.
Certainly the risqué costumes of tonights Strictly Come Dancing would have been disallowed.
Oh Bliss for the memory
Slow Slow Quick Quick Slow and maybe a quick quick kiss stolen in the crush of the last waltz. Valerie, Angela, Frances, Brenda Sheila and Anne are just a few I remember, sitting here some 50 years on. Slow Slow Slow Slow Slow Slow.

And a quote from the time by Courtenay Castle himself:-
Courtenay Castle of London wrote, "Now, men, in these days of sex equality you can take heart from the fact that, on the dance floor at any rate, the man is still the boss. It is he that decides when and where any particular step is danced. He designs the pattern of the dance. The man will do most of the work while his partner just makes a pretty picture." And he continued with, "Now for the ladies. You don't have much to say in the matter at all, although I imagine you will make some pointed comment should your partner seize you in a vice-like grip with the seeming intention of breaking your back." (Yes, those were his actual words.)
Oh Those were the days.

If when doing your blip you slip the SD card into the DVD slot and lose sight of it. Turn screen on side with slit facing down. poke in a Macdonald's wooden tea stirring stick, wiggle it about a bit Slow Slow Quick Quick Slow, and with luck out pops the SD card.
