[Reaching over to the soap dish he picks up the cigarette and sits back in his chair, the letter in his one hand, cigarette in the other. We can see his face clearly for the first time and, just behind him, the grey day that provides the only light in the apartment. The man continues to read as we hear the narrator's voice once more...]

Narrator: But I'm not writing you for that reason, I was sending this letter to you because of the rabbits, it seems only fair to let you know; and because I like to write letters, and maybe too because it is raining...
