Wildlife Education Day

Our local chapter of the Audubon Society held their annual "Wildlife Education Day" today. It's mostly an outdoor free venue with numerous nonprofits providing hands-on activities designed to teach families about local wildlife and the environment.

There were representatives from the Marine Science Institute who had Leopard sharks and other San Francisco Bay wildlife on display as well as beekeepers, reptile handlers, raptor, and other volunteer experts. I counted 18 different stations which were all heavily visited by children and adults of all ages.

This station was a bird house building station. Volunteers helped folks build and decorate their own bird houses. I love the look on the face of the parent on the left!

A fun and educational day.
