Coorg

a much needed vacation. a weekend on the hills, among coffee and spice plantations. no cellphone network was a blessing in disguise. day mostly spent visiting waterfalls and sitting at the end of the cliff and staring at nothing. check-in into the traditional family homestay tucked far away from any signs of urban establishment. A modest duplex house in the middle of a coffee plantation with the sound of birds and occasional barking of dogs on seeing 2 strangers in their home. Our hosts - an elderly couple staying with their young son. An old house, a few rooms of which set aside for guests. Dinner was an incredible serving of chicken curry prepared in traditional Coorgi style with home grown spices. The incredibly delicious green pork curry (Coorgi style, again) beat all my illusions about pig meat.
