Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka

From the Cultural Triangle we moved south into the Hill Country and the tea plantations, to spend a splendid couple of nights in a wonderful old colonial hotel (The Grand in Nuwara Eliya) where it's so cool that they provide electric heaters in the rooms instead of A/C units - and the locals wear woolly hats.

For us that meant shirt sleeves and the chance to wander around in comfort. Gregory Lake is Nuwara Eliya's weekend place for relaxation, so we joined the locals in doing just that.
