Getting High

More mountain running exploits! Today I ventured up into Coire an Sneachda in the Northern Cairngorms from the ski car park in blustery conditions. Once at the foot the crags at the headwall of the coire, I stopped very briefly in the very chilly conditions by the metal mountain rescue box. It's here as the coire is perhaps's Scotland's most popular wintering climbing location and the box contains a stretcher and many other essentials items for rescuing injured climbers.

I then ventured up onto the windy plateau above the climbing crags and jogged briskly along avoiding the slushy patches of snow to the top of the Fiacaill Coire Cas. There I dscended rapidly to the ski car park to a waiting MrsCatMac.

One hour and twenty minutes of exercise in nature's gym.
