Bread Line, Grounds for Sculpture

Grounds for Sculpture near Princeton, New Jersey, might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you don't take your art too seriously you might enjoy wandering around the exhibits in this park established by the crown prince of kitsch, John Seward Johnson. This is Depression Bread Line by George Segal.

We finished our two-day board meeting in fairly upbeat mood. It's been a tough two years for the charity but the staff have been working hard to build what is now a truly international organisation with offices in the US, UK, Japan, Australia, China, India and Brazil.

We toured the park in darkness, hence the gloominess of the picture. But I thought that was fitting, given the subject.
