Premature Illumination

Pickering accidentally switched on its Christmas lights a month early! They hung up the fittings this weekend in preparation for the big switch-on at the end of November, but discovered that the electrical connection was still live from last year, and no-one knew where the off switch was...!

I found this out cos I went to a pub quiz to raise money for the Christmas lights fund. Our team won (yay!) but we put the winnings back into the lights fund. After all, someone's gotta pay for the extra electricity bill between now and the end of November...
