The Rule of Thirds

I've been told and read about compostion and the rule of thirds, splitting the landscape shots into two parts sky, one part sea or vice versa. But when scrolling through all my shots from this morning when I got back to the apartment, my wife told me she really liked this one, so this one it is.

She is clearly not bothered in the slightest by the rule of thirds!
