Life through the Lens

OBAMA

Walking into school today was really something incredible. The front lawn of the building, usually silent after the final bell was filled with such an energy that only a person like Obama could bring. The line of supporters stretched nearly a whole street and of course these kids were pretty excited about it. One lady didn't mind if Obama called her sweety and another did the Obamawave.

Inside I got to sit in the press area to take pictures for yearbook, which was absolutely thrilling. Television networks were conducting interviews all around and plenty of photojournalists were running around with their multiple cameras and equipment. Fellow blippers pocho and stez were there too.

Once Obama stepped on stage, cheering echoed from the crowds. Speaking on the War in Iraq, the economy, the education system, and foreign policy Obama just seemed true. Taking questions from audience members, like this man who inquired about what Obama would do to help people rebuild their lives after jail, Obama really did have that sense of optimism in his words. If nothing else, the man is an incredible speaker. Witnessing this whole event as a student is something I will forever remember and the message of hope Obama spoke of, is definitely change I can believe in.
