Winter Garden

The day started cloudy, but in the early afternoon became quite sunny. Due to the overcast sky I had decided on going to the Winter Garden in Aberdeen's Duthie Park, more or less in the centre of the city. Much frequented by Mum's with young children and dog walkers.

The Winter Garden (and Duthie Park) is a fairly large complex, and must take several gardeners to look after. The Winter Garden is colourful throughout the year, and is a really nice place to have in the city. There are always people wandering around with cameras!

I took a mix of conventional photographs as well as less conventional, in the end settled on this abstract section of one of the flower beds. This was taken using a Lensbaby, a lens which distorts the image. Although this is the intention, part of the photograph is supposed to be in focus. The lens only has manual focus, which in general I avoid as I am hopeless at focussing manually. I have a checked and a small section of the picture is in focus!
