Waterfoot Sunrise

Ailsa Craig

Today's shot is from almost exactly the same spot as my first blip, which was taken in the summer when there were lots of boats about. Most have been removed for the winter, although the one shown here is likely to remain on its mooring. It is at a bit of a strange angle because its keel and fins are still sitting on the sand awaiting the rising tide.

Not a lot of sun around this morning so I dashed out from the house when it did break through the clouds to get this shot. However, the sun was clearly shining on the south Ayrshire coast which is on the horizon behind Ailsa Craig (the wee lump in the distance!).

I will undoubtedly return to this spot as the seasons roll on, particularly to try and catch the winter sunrises.
