A slice of Lesley's life

J: "How old were you when you learned to tie shoelaces?"

Me: "I can't remember but probably younger than you as I don't think we had velcro shoes."

A: "Did you have electricity?"

J: "Yes, they did have electricity but only a tiny bit. Did you have streetlamps and cars?"

Seriously, do they learn nothing? Or can they just not distinguish between 30 years ago and 100 years ago?

Anyway, momentous day for Jackson - out of the house for the first time in a week and he learned to tie shoelaces. Squeeze in a trip to the cinema to see the marvellously all-action packed, swashbuckling adventures of TinTin and buy some new fancypants trainers, and another game of Cluedo and you have a fine day on your hands. Did attempt a trip to the Fair but turning up just when it's opening on a rainy Thursday afternoon doesn't exactly do it on the Fair atmosphere stakes so we beat a hasty retreat home.

His trainers are rather fabulous looking but played havoc with the white balance so apologies if this hurts your eyes; they're not quite so dazzling in real life.
