Louise - Changing Natures

Seeds of Change...

Today was all about change - with a start and an end that were complimentary.

Attended a big meeting in Cumbernauld* of a group looking at Scotland and climate change - what do we need to do to meet the ambitious targets we have set ourselves. It is a huge, interconnected and complex agenda, and we cover a vast amount of discussion and debate. The bottom line though, is about societal change - who do we need to be to create the future we aspire to in balance with the earth?

And then back to Edinburgh to the Scottish Parliament, to attend a reception to recognise and celebrate young people from across the country who have been involved in a huge range of volunteering projects - from peer mentoring, to anti-bullying and paired reading programmes. The young people were just fantastic - so inspiring and full of energy, ideas and potential. I left the Parliament with so much hope and confidence, that young people across Scotland will be the ones who deliver that change to our future we were talking about in such depth earlier - and they will deliver it well, with compassion and equity. As adults, we have the responsibility to make sure we create the right conditions to let them get on with it!

*.."what's it called?"!! One for those of you with long memories...
