Beauly Station

Beauly Station reopened about four or five years ago. After spending hundreds of thousands of pounds it was discovered that the platform was too short and the opening was delayed for several months until Health and Safety allowed trains to stop but with only one door opening. The station is now in the Guinnes Book of Records for having the shortest platform in the UK rail network. About 24 trains now stop here daily on this the north line to Wick and Thurso and west to Kyle of Lochalsh, one of the most scenic of rail journeys.
