Rhoda and friends

On the right is Rhoda, Head teacher at Zola Zola Secondary school and one of these amazing women we tend to befriend in Malawi. She is a widow with ten dependents, at the moment, and a mother to hundreds more in her school.
Her story is sad and at times frightening, but her enormous Christian faith keeps her going.
At the moment she lives in a rented house, but with the support of Wooton Bassett School in the UK, we are helping her complete a hew house before the rains.
Beside her is Anam Cara (Soulmate), Mary, with Mick and Eithne, volunteers from Ireland.
We just had a lovely meal, but Rhoda's main worry was her children who hadn't eaten for two days as her pay check hadn't arrived. She normally has a tiny appetite, but the way she ate, would suggest great hunger.
Imagine a school head in most countries in such dire poverty? but this is Malawi.
