You can catch a ferry between Nassau and Paradise Island for $3, you always get a showman type giving you an animated description of the attractions along the way - Nicholas Cages house, Sean Connery's house, the historic buildings etc. He'd always finish off by saying that he doesn't get paid by the boat and relies on the generosity of the travellers to survive.
