Magpie ink cap

These grow in a corner of the park beside thegate. A couple of years ago I found a load of them, and bigger too. I've been keeping my eye out for them to reappear, but the drought has meant there are almost no fungi.

Today I noticed these two small ones. In spite of seeming quite gaudy they are hard to spot - a bit like the dazzle camouflage they used I guess.

Although they look pretty sinister apparently they're edible but rather tasteless
