lightweight and functional

Prior to the mass proliferation of coffee-shops utilising steam to produce generally reasonably acceptable coffee, coffee always seemed secondary to tea in the pecking-order of hot drinks available in cafés and tea-shops. I'm occasionally reminded of this whenever served a cup of coffee to which no attention has been paid or which the vendor has seemingly never taste-tested or which is made with the cheapest grounds or beans in the cash and carry. There are places which serve both nice ice-cream and nice coffee but the place we took Edgar to today to see some pigs and sheep and cows (and, unexpectedly, reindeer) should just stick to ice-cream if it can't be bothered to even try and make coffee worth drinking. Obviously I finished the cup and the bottom half of Nicky's cup in order to keep awake and perky but it wasn't very nice.
