The Daily Bun

Who needs thermals?

Today was a stunning day. We went out to Hathersage, had a short wander there (bought some new walking boots), then went to Surprise View to meet up with some friends - one old, one new. The objective was to find fungi. We did find quite a few, but nothing edible. It was a glorious day: warm and sunny and the autumn colours are just about reaching their peak. This kestrel was hunting along Millstone edge, and was being shadowed by two microlites humming their way along Burbage Valley.
Surprise View? As you drive along the road from Fox House on the very edge of Sheffield, the round swings round, the rocks fall away and you can see down the Derwent Valley to Hathersage and beyond.
