This year

These are wooden tablets which people write on to express their wishes for the year. These were added in January of this year (2011) and will be taken down end of December to make way for new ones of January 2012.
There are many languages here, for example, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and I even found two in French, one in Spanish and one in English :)
I guess, no matter the culture, people everywhere need encouragement somehow for the coming year.
