surfer boy

On Friday I stopped to take photos of the trees both growing and falling over on Whitney beach. I was going to share one of those photos with you because it looks so surreal, but my attention was caught by 4 young men doing some kind of surfing on short boards. Actually, they would run into the water, throw their board down, jump on it and try to catch a wave. This guy did quite well. I love the look of concentration on his face - view large here. I have never taken an action photo like this and I was quite far away. My lens goes to 90 mm and I was using all of it. I love the water splashing all around!
