St. Andrew (Civil Service No.10)

We were walking the dog (ben) along the forth and clyde canal today when I noticed this old but rather nice lifeboat in a compound near to the canal.

(A bit of googling later.)

She's an ex-RNLI lifeboat.
A 41ft Watson-class vessel was built in 1951.

Initially stationed at Whitehills then transferred to Girvan and then to Arklow in Ireland. There between 1968-73 she was launched on service 24 times and saved 6 lives.
She was then held in storage and was sold a few months ago.
Now here awaiting restoration.
