Journey Through Time

Beautiful Downtown Camas

Bill wanted to go to Washougal to go to his hobby shop that he visits now and then, so I dropped my mop and said, "I wanna go, too, please.". So off we went. Washougal is a small town which is right next to a small town of Camas. These towns are east of Vancouver off of Highway 14, which would take you all the way up the Columbia Gorge on the Washington side of the river. Anyway.....I digress....we did the hobby store thing and then stopped at the Washougal River park, but it was so overcast and dark that those photos are not very pretty. He indulged me by going into Camas and letting me get a few images of their magnificent trees. It's a sweet little town that is struggling, as are many, to keep businesses going. There are boutiques and cafes and restaurants and such to look at when you want to "do" Camas. All those trees are hiding what is at the end of the block, which was the main business in Camas for many, many years - a paper plant. It has been owned by several different companies, James River and now Georgia Pacific. It has been tinkered with and the smell that Camas was famous for is hardly an issue anymore.

What the trees are hiding.
