Pettah Fruit Market

Noisy, smelly and vibrant. This fruit market in Colombo, Sri Lanka is very much like most other asian fruit markets, with friendly people shouting hello ad beautiful tropical fruits at prices too cheap for western comprehension. What made this market different was the scarred lady singing in the middle of the road baring her withered chest and arm. I have no idea what she was saying, but I hope that it was optimistic.
