Dunnock

Took the kids for a walk on the beach on a gorgeous sunny afternoon in the Isle of Man, and one of our neighbours who's a birdwatcher is also a trained bird ringer apparently, and he'd caught this dunnock in a net and was ringing it. Apparently if it's ever caught again, the number can be looked up on a computer and can be traced back to here. Anyway the kids thought it was great, and they were running around checking the nets and helping to set the birds free after they'd been weighed and rings. The birds that is, not the kids! A great educational hour or two for them.
