Bird

Stopped feeding the birds in early Spring and at more or less the same time the old bird table of many years service finally gave up the ghost. We lashed out on a new one two or three weeks ago and got no response for a few days. But the last few days we seem to be on their circuit and they're back and forth all the time. Seems a bit wasteful and ridiculous to feed wild creatures but I must say I enjoy watching them through the kitchen window - the table is just a yard or so away. Mostly tits and chaffinches. A solitary Robin. Last year a blackbird was always first on the scene to greet me before breakfast even when it was still pretty dark.
