Staring contest

Another warm mild day. After lunch I walked the dog across the farm. Unfortunately Tess had to remain on the lead as T was spreading slug pellets from the quadbike over the newly sown crops and she goes crazy with excitement when she hears the engine - don't ask me why!!
Met N down by the beef yards which have just been reroofed. The animals looked well and several will be ready to go to market before Christmas. The local market is now closed so the carrier has to take them to Frome which is a long way compared to the old fifteen minutes trip.

This is one of the crossbred beef animals we raise from bought-in weaned calves or older stores. It is probably a Charolais X.

Still shocked about the M5 accident. Fortunately we don't know anyone who was involved. The spot is literally metres from where we had our prang a couple of weeks ago except we were on the Junction 25 roundabout below. N may be taken that way to Bristol tomorrow but he hopes they'll join the M5 at Bridgwater.
