Nissen Hut, RAF Chedworth

Every time I walk through the now-defunct RAF Chedworth airfield I notice how time is slowly erasing all trace of this historical place where Spitfires and Mosquitoes once shattered the peace of the countryside with the pulse-quickening roar of their Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.

It's fitting in this week of Remembrance to record one of the small vestiges that remain of a once-thriving community of incredibly brave and dedicated people.
