Sunset

Did a shift in the craft shop this morning. It is a co-operative and apart from a part time manager, all the rest of us are volunteers. Nearly everything we sell is local, but at Christmas we buy in fair trade goods to add the seasonal colourfulness and bring in a bit of an international atmosphere to the shop. It was great fun, looking through the new goods, deciding on displays and colour themes and arranging things on the shelves etc. - strictly under the supervision of someone with an eye for these things, you understand!

In the afternoon Ollie and I set off for a walk round the headland before it got too dark. It was so calm and still and beautiful. The hills of the Scottish mainland were quite clear when you looked down to the south, but the sun was blinding! Lots of gannets still about, but the little migrant birds from the garden seem to have moved off.

Choir practise tonight - Bach's Christmas Oratorio. Himself decided not to sing this time and concentrate on the house building, but he's been coerced into coming along as his presence is required amongst the basses. What it is to be needed! Good to be travelled back and for together again, just like old times!
