Tree palm

Lashing with rain to begin with then it cleared into a pleasant very warm day. Exotic things don't only grow in unexpected places, I have a few in my garden. This is the tree palm which just keeps on growing! The fronds are proper Cleopatra fan shaped and make interesting shapes as the light filters through them.

Last night's film, Incendie, was extremely good but very powerful and harrowing. It told the story of an Iranian Christian woman who had recently died and in her will instructed her grown up children to deliver a letter to the father they had never met, and a brother they never knew they had. The family were then living in Canada and as the children try to find their lost family members uncover the truth about their mother's past and their own origins. Humanity as a whole does not come out well, nor does men 's treatment of women.

On a lighter note, the missing rat has surfaced and been dealt with. Eeeuuw.

I shall be away for a few days for after work tomorrow we are off to the airport and heading for Bradford! The Museum of Film and Televsion there hosts an annual animation festival and my brother is doing An Evening With' showing two of his new short films. The sons and girlfriend are also travelling up from various destinations, and I will be on tenterhooks until everyone arrives safely and on time. Son number 1 has a tendency to leave things to the very last possible moment (you do!!!!) and is very laid back, while, somewhat to his shock, son number 2 has found the punctuality gene suddenly kicking in!! When I skyped at the beginning of the week, arrangments were looking a bit dodgy. A blipmeet is also on the cards!! Will tell you all about it later - see you next Monday.
