Vermilion Flycatcher

Overlooking pond early in morning and looking for an insect for breakfast this Pyrocephalus Rubinus is on full alert. Pyrocephalus is Greek for Firehead. The Vermilion Flycatcher is listed by Peterson as an uncommon species.

Today is a day for Bird Photos. This one is posted because it is an uncommon species. (Somewhat) better photos of a Great Blue Heron and a Cactus Wren are posted here.

I also have posted a personal photo in my About page. Not my photo, it was taken by a professional photographer, Robin, at the All Souls Procession on Sunday. It cost ten bucks which included a donation to the Procession.
