Living in this region, I thought it about time I shot something with a destinct Middle-Eastern flavour. With that in mind, I headed out to one of Dubai's many Mosques to capture today's blip. Not sure I fulfilled the brief completely at all, but this lantern on the perimeter wall caught my attention. Ho-hum. I have many future blips to hone the Arabesque theme. Bring on the Dubai weekend.

Five times every day, Muslims are called to prayer from the minarets of mosques which are scattered around the city. Since 2006, the Dubai weekend has been Friday-Saturday, as a compromise between Friday's holiness to Muslims and the Western weekend of Saturday-Sunday.
